ASH WEDNESDAY LIVE PAINTING
I recently had the opportunity to paint live at my home church, Warehouse 242, during their Ash Wednesday service. I had 1 hr to paint a reflection of Jesus. Prior to the service, there was a self-guided prayer time where people wrote laments on the canvas. During the service, I painted Jesus over the laments.
This was a cool experience for me because it was an active trust in God to help me convey an expression of Jesus in a short time frame. It was full speed painting where I didn't have time to consider my strokes, but instead let myself paint purely from instinct and feeling. I'm grateful for the experience and to have this painting as a reminder of God's faithfulness.
